Community Garden Project
Join Us!
Capital Native Nations is approaching health and well-being by focusing on increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors identified in our Indigenous Determinants of Health study. We are building a community garden in the middle of a D.C. neighborhood. The goal is to not only receive the benefits of healthier nutrition and unprocessed food sources, but to also maintain the balance with the environment, to give back to biodiversity, and to share the intergenerational knowledge with the community.

We will be periodically hosting drop-in vaccination clinics and healthy eating seminars at our existing community space.

We are interested in facilitating primary care physician visits with culturally safe providers as well. Reach out if this is a service you would use.

We would love more input from the community about additional programs or services that are needed to improve our Urban Indian community’s health
and wellness.

Community Events

We are curating a regular calendar of events in partnership with our hosts at the Josephine Butler Parks center to bring indigenous-centric activities, events, and celebrations to the community.

Seminars, speaking engagements and book tours, dances, sports events, ceremonies, and feasts are all part of the programming.

Keep an eye on our calendar of events to learn more.
